Chapter IX

Read fifteen books of the _Praeparatio Evangelica_ of Eusebius, in which he refutes the foolish doctrines of the gentiles, and shows that they were always contradictory. At the beginning and end of the fifteenth book he mentions another treatise, the _Demonstratio Evangelica_, which follows the _Praeparatio_. His object in these works is to refute the errors of the gentiles, and to confirm the preaching of the Gospel.
