"The Arabian Nights' Entertainments" by Anonymous is a collection of Middle Eastern folktales compiled during the Islamic Golden Age. To escape execution, Scheherazade tells her husband, King Shahryar, a different story each night, always stopping at dawn before the tale concludes. Her cliffhangers keep the king curious for one thousand and one nights. The tales range from historical accounts to love stories, featuring jinn, sorcerers, magical places, and legendary figures, with stories often nested within other stories in richly layered narratives.
