Chapter CDXLVII: Letter MCCCCXIV: To Mr. J――――s

Text size

_Rodborough, May 11, 1769._

_EBENEZER, Ebenezer!_ Through infinite mercy, I just now arrived here. Blessed seasons at _Chippenham_, _Castlecomb_ and _Dursley_, in our way from _Frome_. Have been enabled to preach five times this week. It is good to go into the highways and hedges. Field-preaching, field-preaching for ever! Cannot yet determine what course to steer next. At present a very heavy cold lies upon me. JESUS’s warm love more than makes amends for all. GOD fill all your dear souls with it! I am easy, as you go on well in _London_. GOD bless you all. By _Saturday_’s post you may know further concerning, my dear Captain,

Less than the least of all,

_G. W._
