"Hearts and clubs : A comedy in three acts by Amy Ella Blanchard" is a comedic stage play written in the late 19th to early 20th century. Ultimately, Mr. Fossil is charmed by Mintra’s apparent sensibleness, unwittingly approves his nephew's choice, and both the romantic and marital conflicts are resolved with cheer—demonstrating that while “clubs are trumps,” hearts win out in the end.
